Travel Diaries: Episode 1: Road Trip to McLeod Ganj

After a month of constant slogging at work, one deserves a break. As the saying goes, "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy." :D
This post is about my road trip to McLeod Ganj. I wasn't really planning to write about the trip here since I could hardly click any pictures of street fashion in McLeod or my OOTDs, but the place was so amazing that I cannot stop gushing about it. :D

The last month had been pretty crazy and hectic with mid semester submissions and on top of that, the tragedy with my laptop. It was high time that I took a break. So instead of rushing home right after my exams (like I usually do), I went off to McLeod Ganj (also Dharamshala and Dharamkot) for a couple of days.

Dharamshala is a hill station in Himachal with beautiful scenery & weather. Its peaceful environment is in contrast with the fact that it is crowded with hordes of people from all over the world. Delicious cuisine (at very reasonable prices) is a cherry on top. You can eat to your heart's content and taste all the dishes that you normally wouldn't eat. Try as much as you can but the bill would never go above 1000 bucks! I must've tasted a lot dishes but couldn't include the pictures here.

Now coming to fashion. Since Dharamshala is basically a tourist place and also, a major chunk of population there consists of Tibetans, the street fashion is eclectic and not something you'd normally see elsewhere in India. I wish I could attach pictures (visuals are self-explanatory :D) but I didn't have my camera on me.

Most of my days were majorly spent either eating or sleeping (hostel does that to you :/), so we didn't explore the place much except for a day or two. But overall McLeod is a perfect getaway for people who've got wanderlust. I'd love to go there again (mostly to eat!) and also carry my camera this time.

These lamps reminded me of the archimedean solids that I made in my first year of college! :D Pretty cool, right!
I love rabbits! Found these two cute little ones at the hotel we stayed at

Thank you, Reetika, for sharing all these pictures with me! :)
